Soren Duggan

Soren served for nine years in the United States Army, operating in multifaceted intelligence collection roles for U.S. Special Operations while being tasked with developing relationships and networks with foreign allies. He completed combat deployments to Afghanistan and Syria, where his face-to-face experiences with refugees from authoritarian states and failed democracies motivated him to protect against attacks on voting rights, while advocating for electoral and campaign finance reforms that safeguard democratic health at home and abroad. At HKS, Soren intends to research, study, and discuss potential policy solutions for these areas while building skills to effect change in government. Soren graduated magna cum laude from Columbia University with a BA in political science, with Honors, concentrating in American elections and political theory
