Sarabeth Spitzer

As a resident in general surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Sarabeth faces the effects of firearm trauma and injury daily while caring for patients. As a future trauma surgeon, she hopes not only to treat these patients after their injuries occur, but also to use academic research and public policy to prevent these injuries altogether. Sarabeth graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College with a Bachelor of Arts in neurobiology and received her MD at Stanford Medical School. She is the 2020–2021 recipient of the Christine Weeks Schofield Award for exemplary commitment to patient care and the surgical profession.
