Mid-Career Master in Public Administration Candidate, 2022
Monique’s interest in environment issues was triggered during family holidays in Congo, when she experienced the paradox of electricity scarcity while witnessing the abundance of untapped hydro and solar power. She vowed then to dedicate her career to Africa’s transition to low-carbon economies.
She has since worked internationally on climate change, clean energy and green finance projects for a multilateral development bank, an international think tank, a national forest entity, and various UN agencies. Monique co-authored and contributed to reports on climate finance for energy transition, biogas and tenure related to bioenergy development. She holds a Master of Science in Energy, Environmental Technology and Economics from City, University of London. A board member of the Future Energy Leaders program from the World Energy Council (WEC), she sits on both the Technology Executive Committee and the Loss and Damage Expert Group on action and support (ASEG) of the UNFCCC and is an Executive of the Congo World Foundation.
