Lindsey Batteast

Since high school, Lindsey has explored solutions to pressing social and economic issues. Lindsey honed her interests at Indiana University Bloomington, where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in public affairs, concentrating on law and public policy. She has worked for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation as an emerging leader in the advancement of the global Black community, served as a Humanity in Action Racial Justice and Accessibility Fellow for Count Us IN, and investigated the financial inclusion of Dalit people in India. Lindsey is the founder of the Rising Rainbow Coalition, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to strengthen the socioeconomic conditions and civic engagement of marginalized communities in Indiana. She is building a connectedness among diverse people from various marginalized backgrounds to achieve equal access, equal opportunity, and the ability to move ahead for all in the state of Indiana.
