After graduating from the United States Naval Academy in 2012 with a BSc in history and a minor in Spanish, Katie commissioned as a naval aviator. Her first tour of duty was with the “Skinny Dragons” of Patrol Squadron Four, which included two deployments to Europe and Africa. Ashore, she served as the principal aide to the admiral in charge of the Navy’s interactions with key Central and South American partner nations. Her most recent tour was as the assistant navigator aboard USS Nimitz, during which time she was forward deployed to the Arabian Gulf. She has received several Navy and Marine Corps commendation medals. Katie plans to apply the expertise she gains at HKS to her career in the Navy, as part of her continued commitment to public service.
