Joan Moon, MPP ‘19
Head of Negotiation Coaching
Joan Moon is an MPP 2019 graduate and currently a Negotiation Coaching Fellow. As a student, she was a course coach for MLD-280 Advanced Workshop in Multi-Party Negotiation and Conflict Resolution and served as lead researcher and a founding coach for the KSNP Coaching Clinic. Before coming to HKS, Joan was a Teach For America corps member and taught sixth grade in the Bronx where she was rated a Highly Effective teacher and served on the School Leadership Team.
Emily Schlichting MPP/MBA ’20
Kennedy Senate Simulation, Chair
Emily Schlichting is Student Chair of the Kennedy Senate Simulation. Prior to attending the Kennedy School, John spent over five years working on the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee for Senators Patty Murray (WA) and Tom Harkin (IA), and for the Obama Administration at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. In previous Kennedy Senate Simulations, Emily drafted the mandatory spending legislation to be debated by the Committee on Finance, and served as the Senate Parliamentarian. Emily is excited to return as Student Chair and take a bigger behind-the-scenes role in KSS. With the 2020 elections looming, she believes that this year's simulation has the potential to be very exciting. Emily spent the past two summers working for Blue Cross Blue Shield Nebraska and for McKinsey & Company.
