Though few today know it, George Washington faced a rebellion in his ranks during the closing days of the American Revolution. Had he mishandled this rebellion, or been ambitious for power, America’s trajectory over the coming centuries would have changed dramatically. In this talk, Dr. Gary Gregg will tell the story of the dramatic end of the American Revolution and how Washington’s actions at Newburg continue to be felt even today in our tradition of civilian control of the military.
