Lessons in Leadership: A Conversation with Harvard Men's Basketball Coach, Tommy Amaker

Date:

Tuesday, September 13, 2016, 9:00am to 10:00am

Location:

Darman Room

Join us for a conversation with Tommy Amaker, the Thomas G. Stemberg '71 Family Endowed Coach for Harvard Men's Basketball. Since taking over as head coach in 2007, Amaker has transformed the program into a powerhouse, with four NCAA tournament appearances and five Ivy League championships, as well as Harvard's first appearance in a major national poll. Amaker is also an active member of the local community, having been inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame and serving on the Board of Overseers for the Boys & Girls Club of Boston. Amaker will discuss the importance of leadership in the context of college sports, how that compares to leadership in other contexts, and his personal trajectory from being a basketball player to coaching a team of his own.

This event will be open to the public. Event will be held in the Darman Room (Taubman, 135). For questions, please email cpl_events@hks.harvard.edu.
